Submitting Styles
The following documentation will give you an overview of how to submit styles to the phpBB.com Styles Database. At the bottom of this document you will find a quick overview of how to resubmit previously denied styles.

Before doing anything, please see the following 3 notes:

When naming your style, we strongly(!) recommend you using the following naming structure: StyleNameVersion.zip. StyleName would be the name of your style, while Version would be the version number of your style.
Please make sure that your style follows our Styles Submission Policy.
If you are submitting a previously submitted style, make sure you increment the version number. You cannot resubmit with a filename that has been previously submitted.

If you've reviewed the above 3 notes then please continue.

Make your way over to the Styles Download section of our website.
Choose where your style belongs. If it is a theme for phpBB, then you have the following categories to choose from:
- Color
- Hi-Tech
- Imitations
- Seasonal
- Simple
If your style consists of graphics only, then you have the following categories to choose from:
- Avatars
- Folders
- Image Sets
- Post Icons
- Rank Images
- Smiles
Once you find your category, click on the link. When the next page is loaded, there should be several links on the left hand side of your screen. Those links should consist of "phpBB Styles Home," "Styles Database," "Top Rated," "Most Popular," "New Links," and "Add Link." The link you want is Add Link. Click on it.
When the next page is loaded, you should be confronted with a form to fill out. This is where you submit your styles to our Styles Holding Queue. If you have trouble understanding what each question on the form is asking, please see the following descriptions:
- Style Name: The name of your style. Should be self explanatory.
- Style Version: This is the version of your style. If this is the first version of the style then, presumably, its version would be 1.0.
- phpBB Version: Your style should work with the latest version of the phpBB Software. If it does not, please make it so it does.
- Description: Describe your style. Please try to keep it pithy!
- Message to Team (if any): If you have anything that you feel you need to tell the Styles Team, this is where you put it. Only the Styles Team will be aware of what you write here.
- Was this style uploaded before: If you have uploaded a previous version of this style, then please check "yes" ... if this is not an update to a previous style you've created, then please check "no".
- If your style has been uploaded before, please give its URI: If you checked "yes" to the previous question, then please(!) post the web address to the previous version here. This will make the validation process faster.
- Download File: Find the .zip file of your style then click "submit".

That's all the work you have to do. Smile

However, your style will not(!) be instantly added to our Styles Database. The style will be sent to a holding queue where it will wait to be validated by the Styles Team according to the previously mentioned submission policies. If your style does not meet the submission policies, you will be sent a PM saying that your style has been denied and will also give you the reasons as to why. If your style has been approved you will be sent a PM stating that it has been approved and it will contain a link to your styles topic located within the Styles Announcements & Releases forum.

Resubmitting Previously Denied Styles
This section is for those of you have have submitted a style to the Styles Database only to have it be denied by the Styles Team. The reason(s) for its denial were sent to you in the denial PM. When resubmitting, please make sure that the problems have been fixed. As an extra messure, reread the Styles Release Policy for yourself and check, yet again, if everything is valid. Smile

If you feel that everything is indeed valid, then resubmit the style the same way you submitted it before.
