What's one way to customise your board? That's right, installing a smiley pack! What this can do is help to tie in your board with the overall theme- for example adding gun themed emoticons for a clan forum.
But how can you do this? Thankfully it is very easy, and this KB article will detail how to download and install a smiley pack with a .pak file that phpBB can use for easy installation.
1. You must download a smiley pack
These can be download from here under the downloads section.

To download them, you must click the filename of the download. (click for image)
2. You must unzip and upload them
To unzip them you need a zipping utility. WinZip is a popular windows one
After you have unzipped them, you must upload the smiley image files and the .pak file to the images/smiles directory
3. You must go into the admin panel and select Smiley admin

At the bottom of the page, you'll see an "import smiley pack" button. Click this, and you'll see a screen like this.
Choose the smiley pack you uploaded, and press submit. All going well, you'll see a screen like this. At this point, the smileys are installed. Go and check them out
