Now, what does this mean? There are some of you lot out there that will say 'Great! Get lost!' or 'Finally, you can get someone else in and take the project far further and faster'. Well, if that is you, you're dead wrong.
psoTFX bought phpBB to what it is today. Backed up by Acyd Burn and BartVB (and the rest of us in the teams

Which brings us to why he left. Because there were far too many vocal members of the phpBB community who would use any chance to bitch at what psoTFX was doing (comments such as his code was crap, he doesn't know how to lead the project, etc). Although they were in the major minority, they were enough to take light.
The problem with these people though is that they really don't get it. Really, they don't. They advocate that we, as an open source project, should accept third party patches (where in the GPL does it say that? Point me to it!), that we should take on more developers, etc.
Its the last one that really makes me laugh. More Developers. We (as in the phpBB team) gave them a chance to help. Yes, we offerd them the chance to contribute to the development of 3.0
You might expect that the most vocal members of the 'down with psoTFX' group might jump at the chance to finally put their money where their mouth is and help, but quite frankly it was majorly dissapointing. We had less, yes less, than 20 applications to our Summer of Code idea.
So really, its time for this group to put their foot in their mouths. Shut the hell up. Seriously, just mute yourselves. Unless you're willing to put your money where your mouth is and actually do any thing that you say should be done when you're given the chance, you should just shut up; and die. (optional, but wouldn't hurt).
To Paul, its sad that you should leave, but I do hope that everything goes well for you, and that if you feel like it, you can always come back to phpBB.
Anyway, enough of this mega rant...
